Consistently voted American’s #1 Beach, Siesta Key is pretty amazing. It’s beautiful crystal clear turquoise water, pure white sugar sand, and cute little quaint town make it a great place to live and vacation.
There is parking at the beach and parking in town, along the street, and in public lots. There are facilities, a snack bar, and overlook platform……right in the heart of Siesta Key. The first time I came here in 2013, there was only a gravel parking lot – nothing else. Wow, how this area has grown in such a short time.
We tried to make sure no one got to close to our space, since it was so crowded – haha.
There is even a wheelchair/stroller walkway right out to the water.
Sea grass is protected. Do not disturb.
Always watch out for our sea critters.
If it’s alive, please leave it alone.
During November, Siesta Key hosts a sand sculpture festival.
The work these artists do, is unbelievable!
They were all still under construction the day we visited.
Clearwater Beach has a sand sculpture festival in April.
See how your creation compares.
Just like on Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key has a Donut Experiment too. Check it out. The donuts are made fresh while you wait and they are Delicious!
Right next door is Sub Zero Ice Cream & Yogurt. We love it too!
They make the ice cream creations right in front of your eyes.
They start with liquid, add the nitrogen and within seconds you have ice cream. Pretty amazing and it tastes GREAT!
The owners were on Shark Tank a few years back. They have another location on Clark Rd in Sarasota. We found that one first and have been many times. Everyone we’ve taken, has enjoyed it.
Also, in the same plaza is some pretty great pizza – if you like NY style thin crust.
There are plenty of places to eat along the main road in Siesta Key (Ocean Blvd). We’ve tried Gilligan’s Island, Daiquiri Deck, Siesta Key Oyster Bar, The Hub Baja Grill – all are pretty good – lots of bar food, seafood, Tex Mex…… Our favorites are The Cottage and Village Cafe.
No surprise, Siesta Key Sunsets are WOW!
